Sund is a tiny fishing village at the narrowest point of the Sund strait, which divides Flakstad from Moskenes. The harbour holds a small fleet of fishing boats and the Sund Fiskerimuseum — a folk museum of marine engines, several still kept in running order. A retired blacksmith on the same plot makes hand-forged cormorant sculptures that sell internationally; the workshop is open to visitors.
The village is reached by a side road off the E10 just south of Flakstad Church. The strait is narrow enough that you can watch boats squeeze through it from the harbour wall. A simple cafe near the museum serves coffee and fish soup.
