Kabelvåg sits 5 km west of Svolvær on the E10 — the main road through Lofoten. Local buses run between the two villages every hour or two and stop in the centre.
The nearest airport is Svolvær (Helle), with daily flights to Bodø; from Bodø there are connections south to Oslo. Express boats and car ferries also link Svolvær to Bodø and to Skutvik on the mainland.
If you are driving the E10 from west to east through Lofoten, Kabelvåg is the last village before Svolvær and a natural overnight stop with more character than its larger neighbour.
