For a village of two thousand people, Kabelvåg has more to see than it has any right to. Storvågan, at the western edge, packs in the Lofoten Museum, the Espolin Gallery, and the Lofoten Aquarium on one site. In the village itself, the towering wooden Vågan Church — known as the Lofoten Cathedral — looks down on the old harbour. The medieval ruins of Vågar, the wooden buildings of the main street, and the modest mountains behind town all repay a slow afternoon.
