By car is the practical choice for most visitors. The E10 runs the length of the eastern shore from Hamnøy through Reine and Sørvågen to Å. The drive is short — the whole municipality is only about 20 kilometres end to end — but the views make it slow going.
On foot between villages is possible in good weather; the road is walkable, though there are few pavements. Reine to Å takes around three hours at a moderate pace.
By bicycle the route is manageable in summer and one of the best ways to stop at viewpoints without worrying about parking. Electric bike hire is available in Reine.
By local ferry to reach the western beaches. Bunes and Horseid beaches are only accessible by a small passenger ferry from Vindstad, which itself is reached by ferry from Reine. The schedule is seasonal; check 177nordland.no for current timetables.
By water taxi for flexible access to remote coves, the Moskenesstraumen, and the Refsvika cave. Several operators in Reine and Sørvågen offer guided and charter trips.
