The classic viewpoint over Reine and the Reinefjord, Reinebringen rises to 448 metres directly above the village. The hike is steep — roughly 1.5 kilometres from trailhead to summit with around 450 metres of elevation gain — and takes one to two hours each way. A timber staircase was installed in 2019 to reduce erosion, making the ascent easier than the old scramble.
The view from the top on a clear day is one of the finest in Norway: the red cabins of Reine below, the Reinefjord threading between jagged peaks, and the open sea beyond. Come early in the morning or late evening to avoid the crowds that gather here in peak summer.
