Oslo is expensive for drinking, which has the side effect of making people more selective about where they go. The bar scene is most concentrated in Grünerløkka (cheap by Oslo standards, local crowd), around Youngstorget in the centre, and along the waterfront in the summer. Craft beer is strong — Oslo has several good microbreweries including Grünerløkka Brygghus and the Crow bar. Coffee culture is serious: Oslo has a credible claim to being the specialty coffee capital of Scandinavia.
