Røros has a small airport with scheduled flights to Oslo on Widerøe; the service runs several times daily and the flight takes around an hour. By train, Røros is on the Rørosbanen line, which runs between Hamar (on the Oslo–Trondheim main line) and Trondheim. The journey from Oslo takes roughly five hours with a change at Hamar or Elverum; from Trondheim direct trains take about 2.5 hours.
By car, Røros is about 160 kilometres south-east of Trondheim on Route 30 — a straightforward drive through mountain scenery. The road can be challenging in winter; check conditions if travelling between November and April.
