Lysefjord is the reason many visitors come to Stavanger at all. Fjord cruises run daily from the city harbour into the fjord itself, passing beneath Pulpit Rock and continuing to Lysebotn at the far end; the hike to Pulpit Rock and, for the more ambitious, the trek out to Kjeragbolten both start from trailheads reachable by ferry and bus from the city.
