Orłowo Beach and Pier

Sandy beach below the Orłowo cliffs, with a long wooden pier

Orłowo, the southernmost neighbourhood of Gdynia, has the best beach in the Tri-City — a wide arc of pale sand backed by the wooded Klif Orłowski (Orłowo cliff), the most photogenic stretch of Polish Baltic coast. A long wooden pier runs about 180 m into the bay.

The water is shallow and warm in summer (by Baltic standards — high teens°C), the beach is patrolled, and a small dock just south of the pier hosts pleasure boats. The pier and the cliff base at the south end are visited year-round; in winter the cliffs lose chunks every few years to storms, and the path along their base is sometimes diverted.

Reached by the SKM commuter train (Gdynia Orłowo stop, then ten-minute walk) or by the long beach walk down from central Gdynia.
