Katowice Pyrzowice Airport (KTW) is about 30km north of the city centre and is served by Ryanair and Wizz Air among others, with routes across Europe. Bus transfers to the city centre take around 45 minutes. Alternatively, Kraków's international airport is about 90 minutes away by car or bus and has a wider range of connections.
By train, Katowice is well connected. Direct InterCity trains run from Warsaw (around 2.5 hours), Kraków (about 1.5 hours), and Wrocław (about 2 hours). The main railway station is right in the city centre. The regional KM and SKM networks connect Katowice to the surrounding Silesian towns — Chorzów, Sosnowiec, Gliwice, and others — quickly and cheaply.
