The great Gothic basilica that dominates the old town was begun in the 14th century and is the most important medieval building to survive in Kołobrzeg. Its massive brick tower is visible from the beach and from out at sea. The interior holds fine Gothic vaulting and an ornate Renaissance altar. Summer concerts here are a local institution — the acoustics are extraordinary.
