Beaches

Kołobrzeg's beach is one of the longest and widest on the Polish coast — a broad strip of pale sand stretching several kilometres, backed by dunes and pine woods. In July and August it fills with Polish families, but the sheer size means you can always find a quieter spot by walking ten minutes east or west of the main promenade.

Water sports are well organised here. Wind-surfing and kite-surfing are popular in the breezier months, and the sheltered marina makes sailing straightforward. Cod fishing trips go out from the harbour throughout the year, and in winter a hardy contingent of ice-bathers keeps the tradition alive. For a longer excursion, ferries run seasonally to the Danish island of Bornholm.
