The pier juts out from the centre of the beachfront promenade, just beside the lighthouse, and is the heart of seafront Kołobrzeg in summer. It is 220 metres long and rebuilt in concrete after war damage, with benches along its length, a low restaurant pavilion at the end, and small fishing boats moored alongside.
It is a fixture of the long evening promenade-walk that begins at sundown and continues into the night. Vendors sell ice cream and roasted corn; saxophone players and accordionists work the railings; everyone, eventually, ends up here. Free, always open.
