When to Go

Krynica-Zdrój has two distinct high seasons. The summer season runs from June to September, when the spa promenade, hiking trails, and mineral spring pump rooms are at their busiest. This is also when the Lemko Vatra festival takes place — usually in late July or early August — bringing traditional Lemko music, dance, and food to the town.

Winter season runs from December to March, when the Jaworzyna Krynicka ski slopes are open and the town takes on a different, more energetic character. The annual Krynica Economic Forum in September draws business and political figures from across Central and Eastern Europe and fills the town's hotels for a few days.

Spring and autumn are quieter and cheaper, and the surrounding mountains are lovely for hiking in September and October when the autumn colours are at their best.
