The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw opened its permanent home in 2024, after years in temporary spaces. The new building on pl. Defilad, designed by Thomas Phifer, sits across from the Palace of Culture in a deliberate architectural conversation between socialist monumentalism and contemporary minimalism. The collection focuses on Polish and international art from the 1950s to the present, with particular strength in works from Eastern Europe and the Global South.
