Japanese Garden

Address Mickiewicza 1, 51-616 Wrocław

A small but exceptional Japanese garden, originally created for the 1913 World Exhibition that produced the Centennial Hall. The garden was largely destroyed during decades of neglect and a devastating 1997 flood; the present garden, almost completely rebuilt with Japanese specialist help in 1999, follows traditional principles.

Highlights are the curved arched bridge, the koi-filled ponds, the carefully placed lanterns, and the cherry trees that flower in April and May. Half an hour is enough to see everything, but it is a quietly beautiful corner of the larger Szczytnicki Park.
