Founded in 1865, Wrocław Zoo is the oldest in Poland and one of the most-visited tourist attractions in the country, particularly since the 2014 opening of the Afrykarium — a large aquarium showing African aquatic ecosystems from the Suez Canal to the Mozambique reef. The zoo holds more than 10,000 animals across 1,100 species.
The main grounds are pleasant to walk through; the Afrykarium alone needs an hour. In summer the zoo is busy with families; visit on a weekday morning if you want a less crowded experience.
