This small museum occupies a romantic waterfront palace built in the early twentieth century, later bequeathed to the town by the Count of Castro Guimarães. The collection covers decorative arts, azulejo panels, Indo-Portuguese furniture, and manuscripts — a good window into the life of the wealthy families who made Cascais their summer retreat. The palace itself, with its turrets and tile-covered walls, is as much an attraction as the contents. It sits in a small park on the seafront promenade, a short walk from the harbour.
