The Holy Spirit College of the Order of Christ is part of the University of Evora, but its interest is older than the modern campus. Cardinal-King Henrique ordered the former Jesuit college built in 1559, and the complex still preserves 16th-century Mannerist details and later academic buildings arranged around a cloister.
It is worth a look while exploring the hilltop historic centre, especially for the courtyard architecture and the sense of how closely Evora's university life is tied to the city's Renaissance past.
