Bars and Cafes

Drinking in Óbidos means ginjinha — the sour cherry liqueur poured into a tiny chocolate cup, sold for one euro at counters along Rua Direita. Several stands compete for the trade; the original is Ginjinha de Óbidos at the western end of the street, but they are all essentially the same drink.

For something quieter, the bars below the castle and on the terraces along the walls do a good line in Portuguese wines and local craft beer.
