By bus — Ponte de Lima is served by buses from Viana do Castelo (30 minutes) and from Braga (1 hour). The Transdev regional network covers the main routes. There is no train station in town.
By car — The A28 motorway along the coast connects to Viana do Castelo, from where the N202 follows the Lima valley east to Ponte de Lima. From Braga, the IC28 runs northwest through the hills. Porto is about 80 km south, roughly an hour on the A11 or A3.
Walking — Ponte de Lima sits on the Portuguese Camino de Santiago, both the Central Route and the Coastal Route pass through. Arriving on foot from Viana do Castelo or Barcelos is a fine approach if you have the time.
