Ponte de Lima is best explored on foot — the historic centre is small and every main attraction sits within easy walking distance of the medieval bridge. The riverside promenade is the natural starting point, shaded by giant plane trees and lined with Roman-era stonework. Markets, manor houses, and a fine ethnographic museum fill out a leisurely day or two.
