A short walk from the Museu de Portimão, Dona Barca is the local seafood institution — a no-frills tiled dining room and a daily-changing chalkboard of whatever the boats brought in that morning. The grilled sardines, the cataplana, the açorda de marisco, and the wood-roasted fish are all reliable.
Prices are noticeably lower than the equivalent restaurants on the Praia da Rocha clifftop, and the cooking is several notches better. No reservations; expect a wait at peak times. Closed Sundays.
