Faro Airport (FAO) is the main hub for the central Algarve, about 65 kilometres east of Praia da Rocha — around 45 minutes by car, just over an hour by direct shuttle bus. The motorway from Faro is the A22.
By train, Portimão station sits about 4 kilometres north of Praia da Rocha, with regular regional services from Faro, Albufeira, Lagos, and Lisbon (a four-hour intercity journey from Lisbon). A bus or short taxi gets you from the station to the beach.
By road, Praia da Rocha is signed off the A22 motorway. Long-distance buses arrive at Portimão's central terminal.
