Casino da Póvoa, opened in 1934 and rebuilt in 1968, is the northern Portugal counterpart to the better-known casino at Estoril near Lisbon. It sits at the south end of the Passeio Alegre seafront and combines gambling rooms with a sizable restaurant, a theatre, and a nightclub that runs through the summer.
Entry is over-18s only with ID; smart casual dress is required for the gaming rooms. Concerts in the theatre attract well-known Portuguese musicians and visiting acts — check the schedule.
