The market stalls outside the castle sell locally-made sheep cheese (telemea and caș), fresh curd cheese, smoked meats, and pickled vegetables from nearby farms. Among the best edible souvenirs in Romania — cheap, genuine, and very good with bread and a glass of local wine.
