May through September offers the best weather for combining the castle with hiking in the Bucegi Mountains. Late October is the big surprise: Bran Castle hosts one of Romania's most popular Halloween events, drawing large crowds for a genuinely atmospheric experience. Summer weekends (July–August) can be extremely crowded at the castle — arrive before 10am or go on a weekday. Spring and autumn shoulder seasons are ideal. Winter is quiet, with snow making the castle look even more dramatic, though some facilities are reduced.
