The Roznovanu Palace, also known as the Roset-Roznovanu Palace, is a Neoclassical building in the historic centre of Iași, currently serving as the city hall. Built in the early 19th century for a prominent Moldavian boyar family, it is one of the finest examples of the elegant architecture that characterised Iași during its period of greatest prosperity, when the city was the capital of the Principality of Moldavia and aspired to be a Paris of the East.
The exterior is well-maintained and the building is visible from the main street. As it now functions as city hall, public access to the interior is limited, but the facade and the surrounding area are enjoyable to walk through. The palace is a good example of the architectural ambition of 19th-century Iași — a city that genuinely rivalled Bucharest in cultural and political importance for a time, before the union of the principalities in 1859 gradually shifted the centre of gravity south.
