Iași has a wealth of churches, monasteries, and cultural institutions. The Palace of Culture dominates the skyline at the southern end of the old town, and the historic centre is compact enough to explore on foot. Most of the major sights are within walking distance of each other, clustered around the main boulevards and the old princely court area.
