Târgoviște's restaurants concentrate on the main thoroughfare of Calea Domnească and the streets around the Princely Court. Romanian classics dominate — sarmale (stuffed cabbage), mici (grilled minced-meat rolls), ciorbă (sour soup) — at prices well below Bucharest. A few cafes serve coffee and pastries to the university crowd from Valahia. Most kitchens close by 10pm.
