From Bucharest — Trains run regularly from București Nord to Târgoviște, taking just over two hours; the service is slow but cheap. Minibuses (maxi-taxis) from Bucharest's Militari terminal are faster (90 minutes) and run every half hour during the day.
By car — The DN71 from Bucharest is the most direct route, about 80 km and ninety minutes in normal traffic. From Brașov over the Carpathians via the Bran Pass, about three hours.
