Gorodishchenskoye Lake lies immediately below the fortress slopes and the Slovene Springs. It is small, quiet, and more important as scenery than as an activity, but it explains why the old settlement chose this site: water, visibility, and defensible ground all meet here.
The best views come from above, either from the fortress walls or the path toward Truvorovo Gorodishche. Down near the reeds the mood is slower and rural, with ducks, wet meadows, and the sound of spring water running in from the hillside.
