The natural history museum on Lenin Street covers the geology, flora and fauna of Buryatia and Lake Baikal. The collection of taxidermied Siberian wildlife — sable, lynx, Baikal seal, snow leopard, musk deer — is the highlight, alongside a small but well-presented Baikal aquarium of nerpa and omul.
A good place to take children on a wet afternoon. Allow 90 minutes; combine with the History Museum a few buildings down.
