By air: Chelyabinsk Balandino Airport (CEK) sits about 18 km north-east of the city centre and handles domestic flights to Moscow, St Petersburg, and other Russian cities. Bus and taxi connections run to the centre.
By train: Chelyabinsk is a major rail hub on the Trans-Siberian route. The main station (Chelyabinsk-Glavny) has frequent services to Yekaterinburg (around 3 hours), Moscow (overnight, roughly 24 hours), and Novosibirsk. Regional trains also connect to Miass, Zlatoust, and other South Ural towns.
By road: Chelyabinsk sits on the M5 and M36 federal highways. Long-distance buses connect to Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Tyumen, and cities across the South Ural region.
