Riva sits right on the Nišava promenade, and its terrace is one of the better places in the city for a long lunch watching the river go by. The menu covers Serbian standards plus some international dishes, the kitchen is reliable, and the location is hard to beat on a warm afternoon.
This is not the most ambitious cooking in Niš, but it is consistently good and the setting elevates everything. Come for the fish dishes if they are on the menu — the Nišava trout is worth having when available. The summer terrace fills quickly, so arrive before noon or after 2pm to get a table.
