Summer is the peak season — warm, often hot in July and August, with the city's beach and outdoor cafes in full use. The EXIT festival in the first weekend of July is the busiest week of the year, with hotel prices doubling and tripling.
Spring and early autumn are the best time for a comfortable visit — mild weather, fewer tourists, and the Fruška Gora vineyards in flower or harvest. Winter is cold, sometimes severely so, with the Danube freezing over in hard years. Cafe culture moves indoors but the city stays alive.
