Getting There

Novi Sad sits 80 kilometres north of Belgrade on the main road and rail line to Hungary. The fastest way in is the Soko high-speed train from Belgrade — about half an hour, with several services a day. Buses run more frequently, take around ninety minutes, and arrive at the central bus station next to the railway.

The nearest airport is Belgrade Nikola Tesla, with regular shuttle buses and trains onwards. Budapest, three hours by train across the border, is also a reasonable arrival point.

Within the city, almost everything worth seeing is within walking distance of Liberty Square. Local buses cover the suburbs; taxis are cheap and metered.
