Bars and Cafes

Zlatibor resort has a busy cafe culture, particularly along the lakeside promenade. In summer, the terraces stay full from mid-morning to midnight. Most places serve the usual Serbian coffee (thick, Turkish-style), fresh juices, and rakia. The rakia here is worth trying — local producers sell plum, quince, and pear varieties at the Green Market, and most cafes carry regional bottles.

Beer is mostly standard Serbian lagers. Wine is less common than rakia as the local drink of choice. The resort has several places that double as live music venues in summer; the crowd skews young and Serbian, the atmosphere is convivial, and the evenings tend to start late.
