Ribnica Lake

Ribnica Lake sits in a valley about 5 km east of the Zlatibor resort town, its forested shores and clear water making it one of the plateau's prettiest corners. A path circles the lake, taking about an hour at a leisurely pace, passing through mixed forest and offering views across the water to the surrounding ridges.

Fishing is permitted with a day licence available from the local fishing club. Small rowing boats can sometimes be rented near the main access point. The lake is less crowded than the resort area proper and makes a good half-day excursion, particularly in the morning before day-trippers arrive.

A story
Ribnica Lake is a reservoir built in the 1980s to supply water to the Zlatibor resort area. It also became one of the plateau's more attractive spots almost immediately — the forested shores, clear water, and position in a valley between ridges made it a natural place for walking, fishing, and sitting quietly.
