Zlatibor Lake

The lake at the centre of the Zlatibor resort is a focal point for visitors. A paved promenade runs around its perimeter — about 2 km in total — with benches, cafes, and views of the surrounding plateau. It is an easy evening walk, especially pleasant in the mild mountain air of summer.

Paddle boats and small rowing boats can be rented on the lake in summer. The lakeside is also the starting point for several of the shorter hiking and cycling routes that radiate into the surrounding plateau. The main market, the central bus stop, and most of the resort's larger hotels and restaurants are within a short walk.

A story
The artificial lake at the centre of Zlatibor resort was created in the 1960s as part of the development of the town. It is modest in size but functions as the social heart of the resort — the promenade around it fills with strollers in the evenings, and the lakeside cafes stay busy from morning to midnight in summer.
