The hike from Košice-Čermeľ to Vysoký Vrch is a long day in the forested hills north-west of the city. The route is about 25 km with roughly 900 metres of ascent and descent, starting near the Children's Heritage Railway and climbing through quiet woodland before returning toward Košice.
This is not a casual city walk. Bring proper shoes, water, and enough daylight, and check local trail markings before setting out. The reward is a full-day escape into the Slovak countryside without needing to travel far from Košice.
