Zobor Mountain rises above Nitra and gives the city its most accessible natural lookout. Trails climb through forest from the area around Zobor monastery, with signs explaining the landscape and traces of older fortifications along the way.
The walk to the upper slopes takes about an hour at an easy pace. Near the summit, the remains of a millennium monument on the Pyramid are the best-known landmark, and the views over Nitra and the surrounding hills are the reason to make the climb.
