The Celje Water Tower is one of the best-preserved sections of the medieval town walls. Built in the 15th century as part of the city's defensive circuit, the tower was later converted to serve as a water reservoir — a practical reuse that helped preserve it while other sections of the wall were demolished. It stands at the southern edge of the old town, visible from several surrounding streets.
The tower is a solid, cylindrical structure typical of late-medieval Slovenian fortification. It is not possible to enter, but the exterior and the surrounding stretch of wall give a tangible sense of the old town's defensive perimeter. It makes a natural stopping point on a walk around the historic centre.
