Nova Gorica's main attractions cluster around Trg Evrope — the cross-border square shared with Italian Gorizia — and the modernist city centre laid out in the late 1940s. The deeper draws are nearby: the Solkan Bridge to the north, Kromberk Castle in the hills above town, and the vineyards of Goriška Brda just to the west.
