Sava Bluff Walk

Radovljica sits on a flat-topped bluff above the Sava river, and the old town walls run along its western and southern edges. A short walk along the top of the bluff gives views straight down to the river and across the valley to the Karavanke mountains to the north and the Kamnik–Savinja Alps to the southeast.

The walk is only about 500 metres from one end to the other, but the perspective it gives on the town's defensive position is striking — the bluff drops sharply on three sides, and you can see why the medieval settlers chose this particular piece of rock. Early morning is the best time, before the day-trippers arrive from Bled.
