Mijas Pueblo is a whitewashed hill village above the Costa del Sol, preserved and polished for tourism but still genuinely charming. The square bullring — one of only a handful of square bullrings in Spain — is the architectural curiosity everyone comes to see. The donkey taxis that carry visitors through the steep cobbled streets are a fixture of the town's identity. Above everything, the views from the village terraces down to the coast and out over the Mediterranean are spectacular on clear days.
