The most famous beach restaurant on the Costa del Sol east of Málaga — an unfussy chiringuito on Burriana beach where Ayo Manuel García (a local who featured as a child in the 1960s TV series filmed on this beach) has been cooking paella over open driftwood fires for decades. The paella is made in vast cast-iron pans in front of the customers and served on paper plates.
Lunch only; no reservations, expect a queue at peak times. The paella is served all-you-can-eat at a fixed price; drinks are extra. Imperfect, occasionally overcooked, completely unmissable — a Nerja institution.
