Nerja sits on the N-340 coast road 50 km east of Málaga and 80 km west of Almuñécar.
By air, the nearest airport is Málaga (AGP) — about an hour by car or bus. The ALSA bus runs frequent direct services between Málaga airport / city and Nerja's bus station on Avenida de Pescia.
By car, take the A-7 motorway east from Málaga and exit onto the N-340 at Torrox; the coastal road runs straight into Nerja. Parking in the centre is difficult in summer — there are several underground car parks just outside the old town.
By bus, ALSA connects Nerja to Granada (two hours), Almuñécar, Salobreña and the airport. No rail service.
