Nerja's small parish church, on the western side of the Balcón de Europa, built between 1697 and 1735 in a transitional Baroque-Mudéjar style. The whitewashed exterior with its octagonal bell tower fits the local idiom; inside, the church is unexpectedly cool and contains a fine carved wooden image of Christ from the 18th century.
The plaza outside is one of the prettiest in central Nerja, with orange trees and a small fountain. The church is the focus of Nerja's Semana Santa processions in Holy Week and of the August fiesta of San Antonio.
