Casa del Rey Moro is less about the house than the setting: terraced gardens on the edge of Ronda's gorge and a steep historic water mine cut down through the rock to the river below. The descent gives you a physical sense of why water mattered so much in a fortified hill town.
The steps are the main event, and they are not gentle. Wear decent shoes, save some energy for the climb back up, and combine the visit with the Arab Baths and Puente Nuevo for the clearest picture of old Ronda's relationship with the gorge.
